The Seed Program, established to advance the implementation of the Proteomic Navigation of the Human Body (π-HuB Project) and promote a proteomics-driven precision medicine paradigm, provides catalytic funding to support pioneering and demonstrative research initiatives. These projects leverage core platform resources and offer support equivalent to up to 1 million RMB, including high-resolution mass spectrometry instrument time and data analysis services, based on the scientific merit, originality, and significance of proposed research.
The fourth-round call for 2024 Seed Programs invited global applications focusing on three priority areas:

2.Proteomics-driven lifestyle guidelines
3.Generalization of proteomics-driven precision medicine
Since its release, the call has garnered significant attention from the international research community. To date, over 30 competitive applications have been received from leading research institutions, universities, and hospitals worldwide.
All submissions underwent rigorous international peer review by a panel of distinguished domestic and international experts. Evaluations emphasized:
Significance and innovation of proposed scientific challenges
Feasibility of research design
Rationality of cohort design (sample grouping)
Specimen preparation status
Team competency and research foundation
Following a three-stage selection process comprising preliminary review, platform technical verification, and final oral defense conducted under enhanced evaluation criteria, eight projects have been selected for funding. The awarded projects are hereby announced.
